Every review on TheTokener follows a consistent methodology designed to give you the information you actually need, not a marketing summary. Here is how we work.
Token Reviews
We evaluate tokens across five dimensions:
- Technology: Is the underlying protocol novel, functional, and audited?
- Tokenomics: Is supply well-structured? Are vesting schedules transparent?
- Team and backers: Are founders identifiable and credible? Who are the investors?
- Adoption: Is there real usage, or just speculative hype?
- Risk: What are the realistic downside scenarios?
We assign a risk score from 1 to 10 (1 = lowest risk). No token is zero risk. We do not provide price targets or buy/sell signals.
Wallet Reviews
Hardware and software wallets are evaluated on:
- Security architecture: Secure Element chip, open-source firmware, audit history
- Coin support: Range of supported blockchains and tokens
- Ease of use: Setup process, companion app quality, mobile support
- Price and value: Cost relative to features offered
- Track record: Known vulnerabilities, incidents, or controversies
Exchange Reviews
Centralised and decentralised exchanges are assessed on:
- Regulation and licensing: Jurisdictions where the exchange is licensed
- Security history: Past hacks, fund losses, or custodial failures
- Fees: Maker/taker fees, withdrawal fees, staking fees
- Liquidity and volume: Verified trading volume, slippage risk
- Product range: Spot, futures, staking, earn products
Our Rating Scale
Our 5-star ratings reflect overall quality relative to alternatives in the same category. A 4-star wallet is excellent. A 3-star exchange is solid but has notable limitations. We do not give 5 stars by default.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not accept payment for positive reviews.
- We do not review projects we have a financial stake in without disclosing it.
- We do not provide financial advice or price predictions.
